Using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance, Amazon lets consumers use voice to check their risk level for COVID-19 by answering Alexa’s questions.
Consumers can ask “Alexa, what do I do if I think I have COVID-19?” or “Alexa, what do I do if I think I have coronavirus?” and Alexa will ask a series of questions about travel history, symptoms and possible exposure.
Based on the responses, Alexa will provide CDC guidance given the risk level and symptoms.
In Japan, voice responses are based on guidance from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.
Users of the voice assistant also can keep time during handwashing, with Alexa singing a song for 20 seconds.
