The majority of U.S. households have moved to online food or grocery delivery services.

The latest Tech Use and Purchase Tracker by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) found that 51% of households used at least one online food or grocery delivery service in the last week, up from 46% six weeks ago.

Social media platforms were in use by 44% of households and video and conference call platforms hit a high of 22%, up from 12% six weeks ago.

“Use of online food or grocery delivery services hit a big milestone this week,” said Lesley Rohrbaugh, director of research at CTA. “Households across generations are using these technology services more than ever to have food delivered during the COVID-19 outbreak,”

As expected, high usage of video streaming services continued, with 54% of households using them last week, according to CTA.
