Infinity Augmented Reality has been acquired by Alibaba and will join its Israel Machine Vision Laboratory.
The acquisition comes three years after the two companies started collaborating on AR, computer vision and artificial intelligence.
The Infinity team has been working on navigation technologies, computer vision and sensor fusion.
“Alibaba’s expertise in turning technologies into next generation products will be a great platform for the future technologies of computer vision, AR and AI,” stated Motti Kushnir, CEO and co-founder of Infinity Augmented Reality.
Alibaba’s lab in Israel is one of the labs by Alibaba DAMO Academy, which explores fundamental technologies such as computer vision and navigation. The lab has been working with Infinity AR on video analysis and machine learning during the last year.
