The Sacramento Kings have partnered with MGM Resorts International to allow basketball fans to predict the outcomes of game quarters to win virtual prizes.

The NBA team’s free app, “Call the Shot,” will be available within the Fan Zone of the Sacramento Kings app, first released in 2016.

MGM Resorts is the premier gaming sponsor in what the Kings say is the first mobile offering from an NBA team that offers high-frequency predicting gaming to fans.

“We are committed to exploring new ways that technology can be used to engage with fans as they consume and interact with the game,” stated Kings owner and chairman Vivek Ranadivé. “The future is experiential, and we are proud to lead the way in continuing to redefine the fan experience with this innovative and interactive platform.”

Prediction in the app, which runs on the Xperiel platform, involves virtual credits for predictions made before and during the game. Winners can have their names appear on the lederboard in the app and projected onto the 4K Ultra HD videoboard at the game.

The virtual points can be redeemed in at the game center.
