American Eagle Outfitters is adding interactive fitting room technology in several of its flagship stores.
The fitting rooms introduced at the NRF Big Show this week include Aila’s Interactive Kiosk, which allows shoppers to scan items on an iOS-based device. They then can see and request other sizes, receive product recommendations, view running cart totals and email information to themselves of potential gift givers while in the fitting room.
Store associates receive notifications from customer actions in the fitting rooms, so they can deliver other pieces of clothing requested by the shopper.
The technology is being launched in stores in Boston, Las Vegas and San Francisco. American Eagle plans to expand the interactive fitting rooms to more stores later this year, according to the company.
