LaMetric, a connected smart clock company, introduced a new line of connected wall objects at CES.
The LaMetric Sky comprises a series of borderless light panels that can shine in more than 16 million colors.
Sky can display various figures from the internet and create charts out of data like how many Instagram followers a person has, the number of YouTube subscribers or income on a PayPal account, all in real time.
The light system can be connected to other smart home devices, such as a Nest thermostat, so the room temperature could be displayed on a wall, or to a Sonos sound system, which would show the name of a song playing. Weather also could be displayed.
The system also could be deployed by retailers, such as showing a clock with a company logo on a wall.
The light system attaches to the wall by adhesive tapes. Once installed, the lighting system can connect to a smartphone via Wi-Fi and then be controlled through the Sky mobile app. The lighting also can be controlled by voice using Siri, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
